New Middlemore Clinical Trials Infusion Suite - Te Whare Aahuru
We are pleased to announce the formal opening of our infusion suite at Middlemore Clinical Trials with the advent of a karakia (blessing) and the bestowing of a Te Reo Māori name on the suite.
Te Whare Aahuru meaning a Place of Peace or Safety
Dr Edward Watson, CEO of Middlemore Clinical Trials, says “We look forward to welcoming our participants to our purpose built research infusion suite and working with our partners in bringing more clinical programs to Middlemore Hospital and the people of Counties Manukau DHB”.
The bespoke clinical trial infusion suite supports MMCT’s driving ambition to be world-class. The speciality areas that will likely be involved in infusion trials are:
- Hepatology
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Rheumatology
- Respiratory
- Cardiovascular
- Autoimmune disorders (e.g. systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriasis)
- Haematology and Oncology
