Middlemore Clinical Trials is seeing participants on clinical trials as usual, on-site at Middlemore Hospital. Please come to your scheduled appointments. If you have any concerns please contact your research nurse. We will notify participants individually if there is a change to this.
If you have travelled overseas in the past 14 days, or if you have any of the following symptoms, please do not attend your next visit:
- a cough
- a high temperature (of at least 38°C)
- shortness of breath
Instead, give your research nurse a call to reschedule your visit.
The symptoms above do not necessarily mean you have COVID-19. The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu. If you have these symptoms and have been in close contact with someone confirmed with COVID-19, do not come to your next visit. Please telephone Healthline (for free) on 0800 358 5453 for advice on care.
Clinical trials are funded by the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies at the cutting edge of drug and medical device development. The medicines you receive would ordinarily be too expensive or not available in New Zealand for years to come.
MMCT is located in the Esme Green building of Middlemore Hospital. Turn left at Entrance 1, drive past the main Hospital entrance and visitor car park for the hospital, then look for the Ko Awatea building on the right.
